Assembly Bill 32: The Global Warming Solutions Act, this bill will affect
every California resident. Some in good ways and some in not so good. The goal is by
the year 2020, to reduce green house gasses and energy consumption to the levels they were in the year 1990. In
the near future, there will be many state and federal tax incentive programs for families making their homes more efficient.
The SCE Company will also have moneys available for efficient homes.
We at Clemmer Services,
your heating and cooling contractor, offer a lot of products that help home owners make their homes more energy efficient
and take advantage of these tax programs. Some of these are new programs, which mean not all of the funding
is available at this time. However, we wanted to inform you, as many of you are getting your taxes done
now or are planning to make energy efficient home improvements soon.
There is currently, a federal tax credit of up to $1500.00 for some of these energy efficient home improvements. A few of the qualifying improvements include homes with:
- Air conditioning systems with at least 16 SEER (season energy efficiency ratio).
- 95% efficiency furnaces.
- Sealed doors, windows, fireplaces, duct work, electrical outlets, etc...
- Tankless hot water heaters.
- Insulated walls and attics.
- Thermal windows and doors.
- Upgraded roofs (Foil back plywood, medal roofing, white roofing etc…)
